ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Junior Jack Crowley scored three goals and senior Jacob Gray scored two, but it wasn't nearly enough for the Golden Flyers in a non-conference men's lacrosse game Tuesday as visiting RIT prevailed 18-7.

The top-ranked Tigers, who outscored Nazareth 7-1 in the third quarter, improved to 9-0 overall with their 11th straight win over the Golden Flyers. Nazareth dropped to 2-7 overall.

Gray scored the first goal of the game less than two minutes into the first quarter, but RIT dominated after that by rattling off six straight goals to take command. Gray scored again for Nazareth with 2:35 to go in the second quarter off an assist from Jon Lippert, who also assisted on Jeremy Jacob's goal with :05 left in the half to make the score 8-3. RIT then won the ensuing face-off and Ryan Tandy beat the halftime buzzer with a long shot from the outside that eluded Nazareth goalie Andrew Leahey for a 9-3 RIT advantage at halftime.

Six different players scored during RIT's seven-goal barrage in the third quarter, with Tandy scoring twice. Crowley scored Nazareth's lone goal on an extra-man pass from Chris Murphy.

Nazareth scored three more times in the fourth quarter with Crowley netting his 11th and 12th goals of the season with Anthony Basile also scoring.

RIT had large advantages in shots (46-28) and face-offs (20-7) and the Tigers forced Nazareth into 18 turnovers. Leahey played most of the game in goal for Nazareth and had eight saves. Freshman Joe Whitmore made a late appearance and made one save.

Tandy led RIT with five goals and two assists, with Brendan MacDonald (3g, 2a) and Kyle Killen (3g, 1a) scoring three times each. Walker Hare played the first three quarters in goal and made five saves.

Nazareth returns to action Saturday for a non-conference game at 11th-ranked St. Lawrence at 1 p.m.
