ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior Mary LoCicero scored a pair of goals Wednesday as Nazareth scored a 4-0 women's soccer victory over visiting Buffalo State in non-conference action at Golden Flyer Stadium.

Nazareth, with its ninth shutout of the season, improved to 8-5-4 overall, while the Bengals dropped to 4-12-2.

LoCicero leads the Golden Flyers with seven goals after scoring on her only two shots of the game. She broke a scoreless tie in the 18th minute after being dragged down in the penalty area. She buried the subsequent penalty kick into the right side of the goal.

About 20 minutes later, freshman Mia Longo broke free for her first career goal as her shot from the top of the box eluded Bengals keeper Taylor Carillo. Freshman Ashley Plane gained the assist.

Just over two minutes after that, freshman Mallory Ott scored for the fourth time this season as she converted an opportunity on the right side of the box, past the diving Carillo with Plane once again gaining an assist.

LoCicero's second goal came early in the second half on a shot from about 10 yards out that deflected off the leg of a Buffalo State defender before settling into the goal. Sophomore Caleigh Cahoon gained the assist.

Nazareth outshot the Bengals 20-5 and had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks. Junior Hannah Miller started in goal and made three saves. Freshman Gabrielle Pighetti played the final 16 minutes.

The Golden Flyers are back home Saturday at 12:30 p.m. to host Houghton in the regular-season finale. They will honor their five seniors -- LoCicero, Jessica Byrnes, Megan Gallacchi, Elizabeth Guidi and Mary Kate Ordway.

The Golden Flyers are hoping to slide in as the fourth seed for next week's Empire 8 Conference Tournament. They will need a victory Saturday to have a chance.
