ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Seniors Mary Kate Ordway and Mary LoCicero each scored goals leading the Nazareth College women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Houghton College Saturday afternoon in an Empire 8 Conference game and the season finale for the Nazareth in Golden Flyers Stadium.

Nazareth (9-5-4 overall, 3-2-3 E8) scored a goal in the first half as freshman Mallory Ott notched her fifth goal of the season for the early lead.

The score remained 1-0 after one half of play but the Golden Flyers rallied to score twice early in the second half with Ordway and LoCicero each scoring in a span two minutes to take a commanding lead.

Freshman Mia Blitsch added her first goal of the season with less than nine minutes to play for the final margin of victory.

Houghton (5-7-3, 0-6-2 E8) had its best scoring chance midway through the second half as one of the Highlanders forwards worked free in the box for a shot from 12 yards out but junior Hannah Miller was there to make the save as she preserved her seventh shutout of the season as the Golden Flyers recorded four consecutive shutouts to end the season.

LoCicero's goal came off a corner kick for the Golden Flyers as senior Elizabeth Guidi took the corner and worked a quick give-and-go play with sophomore Kristen Prohaska before sending a ball into the goal mouth where sophomore Caleigh Cahoon headed a ball in the direction of LoCicero who finished the goal by heading it past the Houghton keeper.

The Golden Flyers finished with a dominating 26-4 shots advantage and had a 16-3 edge in shots on goal. Miller finished with three saves.

Prior to the game, the five seniors including Guidi, LoCicero, Ordway, Megan Gallacchi and Jessica Byrnes were honored along with senior student athletic trainer Sabrina Herrera.
