Oneonta, NY – Visiting Nazareth was held without a goal for the third time in four contests as Hartwick handed the Golden Flyers 1-0 defeat Saturday in Empire 8 action.  The win for Hartwick snapped a 20-game win streak for Nazareth in the series, dating back to 1987.

With the loss, Nazareth drops to 6-3-1 overall and 1-1 in Empire 8 play, while Hartwick moves to 7-3 and 2-1, respectively.

In a game which each team struggled to create offensive chances, it was an own goal in the second half that pushed the Hawks over the Golden Flyers on Saturday.

Hartwick was credited with a team goal in the 63rd minute as the ball was deflected into the net by a Nazareth defender as Hannah Miller was leaning in the other direction.

Each team finished with just five shots in the game, while Nazareth held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

Kelsey Moss led the Golden Flyers with two shots.  Miranda Timberlake, Paige Sullivan, and Nicole Petocchi each registered a shot.

Miller made three saves in net.

The Golden Flyers return to the pitch on Tuesday, traveling to Pittsburgh, PA to take on Carnegie Melon at 3:30 p.m.
