Miranda Timberlake up with a good look, she scored her third game-winning goal of the year, propelling Nazareth to a 1-0 victory over Alfred Tuesday night. Timberlake also recorded the lone goal, the game-winner, against Houghton on Saturday.
The Golden Flyers, winners of five-straight contests, are now 11-4-1 overall and 6-1 in the Empire 8 after the win, while the Alfred Saxons fall to 6-8-3 overall, 2-3-2 in Empire 8.
Nazareth had four corner kicks early on, including two in consecutive minutes, but could not capitalize.
The Golden Flyers' best opportunity in the first half came in the 34
th minute from
Julia Delgatti who lofted a shot from 18-yard box, but it was saved by a sprawled out Alfred goalkeeper.
Nazareth had six shots, while Alfred was held without a shot in the first 45 minutes of action.
In the 77
th minute, Nazareth had their best chance of the second half with a pass to
Paige Sullivan that split two defenders, leaving her one-on-one with the goalie. Her shot from 15 yards out was saved.
Alfred's first shot did not come until the 79
th minute and sailed wide right. Nazareth outshot Alfred 15 to two in the game.

Hannah Miller had one save in the match to pick up her eighth shutout of the season. It was Nazareth's third-straight shutout win, all of which have come in conference play.
Nazareth closes out its regular season Saturday, hosting Elmira College at 12 p.m. for Senior Day.
