ROCHESTER, NY – Nazareth scored the final 10 points in regulation to force overtime with Hilbert College, however, the Hawks prevailed 67-65 Wednesday night at Kidera Gymnasium in non-conference action.
The Golden Flyers now have lost consecutive games in overtime, falling to 4-5 on the year. Hilbert improves to 6-6.
Trailing 56-46 with 3:54 remaining in regulation, Nazareth caught fire from 3-point range.

Benedict tied the game at 56 apiece following one-of-two free throws with :54 seconds remaining.
Nazareth had the chance to win the game with 4.4 second left coming off of a timeout, but a layup attempt from Peebles was partially blocked, sending the game to overtime.
In the overtime period, Benedict hit her third 3-pointer of the game to give Nazareth a 59-58 advantage with 3:31 to play – it was the Golden Flyers first lead since late in the first quarter. She finished the game with 19 points (6-for-19) and 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Both squads jockeyed back-and-forth, with Peebles knotting the game on two separate occasions down the stretch. Two free throws from Peebles at :18 seconds evened the game at 65 apiece.
Hilbert converted two from the charity stripe with just :6 seconds and a last-second 3-pointer from Peebles missed off the back rim.
Nazareth opened the first quarter, shooting 3-for-12 from the field, as the Hawks built a 14-10 lead. Straub put in Nazareth's first bucket of the game nearly seven minutes into the contest.
Sorge drained a 3-pointer with 7:35 remaining in the half to shave Hilbert's lead to 19-16. Nazareth, however, went cold from the field and scored just seven points the rest of the half – Hilbert led 36-23 at the break.
Nazareth managed to bring the lead to single digits, 47-35, after thirty minutes of play.
Benedict and Peebles brought Nazareth to within 45-41 on back-to-back layups to start the fourth quarter.
Sorge poured in 19 points (6-for-18) with four rebounds. Straub poured in 14 of her career-high 16 points (7-for-11) in the second half.
Peebles notched seven points to go along with 11 rebounds.
Nazareth begins conference play on Friday, when it will travel to Alfred for a 6 p.m. contest.
