HOBOKEN, N.J. -- Nazareth dropped a pair of Empire 8 Conference volleyball matches Saturday as Stevens and Ithaca knocked off the Golden Flyers in successive matches in three sets each. Stevens improved to 14-1 overall with an easy win by scores of 25-15, 25-10, 25-15. Ithaca defeated Nazareth by scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-13. Ithaca is 12-3 overall, while Nazareth dropped to 9-5.
Against Stevens, senior
Cady Messmer had eight kills and sophomores
Kelsey Milligan and
Carmen Sapp each had four. Senior setter
Maureen Thayer had 18 kills and 10 digs.
In the Ithaca match, Milligan had seven kills against one hitting error in 13 swings. Freshman
Melissa Newcomb added six kills. Thayer had 21 assists.
Nazareth resumes its Empire 8 Conference schedule with a match at St. John Fisher Wednesday at 7 p.m.
