Tournament siteROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth won two more men's volleyball matches Saturday as the Golden Flyers completed play in the annual Golden Flyer Invitational at the Kidera Gymnasium. Nazareth breezed to a three-set swin over Johnson & Wales in its morning match and then outlasted Medaille in its afternoon match to complete a 4-0 weekend. Nazareth defeated Johnson & Wales by scores of 25-13, 25-15, 25-20 and then rallied to overcome Medaille by scores of 25-22, 30-32, 22-25, 25-15, 15-11.
Combined with wins over Hilbert and D'Youville Friday, the fifth-ranked Golden Flyers now stand at 11-1 overall. The Golden Flyers open United Volleyball Conference play Feb. 14 with home matches against Stevens and New Paltz.

Tim Zyburt paced the Golden Flyers against Medaille with 21 kills against just four hitting errors in 40 attempts for a .425 hitting percentage. Sophomore
Jake Kemp had a career-high 56 assists and junior libero
Tom Keisling was a defensive sparkplug with 17 digs.
Nazareth never trailed in the decisive fifth set, Kills by
Sam Bittker and Zyburt lifted Nazareth to 7-4 advantage and the Mavericks couldn't recover. Senior
Chris Mahan's 11th kill of the the match closed it out.
Down two sets to one, Nazareth got six kills from Zyburt in the fourth set to even the match. Zyburt had four kills in the opening set and
Grant Levermore had three to give Nazareth an early advantage. Medaille took the next two set on the strength of strong play by Pete McKelvey, who totaled 13 of his 19 kills in sets two and three.
Levermore finished with 12 kills and Mahan had 11 with a match-high six blocks. In addition to McKelvey, Brad Schneider had 14 kills for Medaille, Nate Schneider had 12 and Calvin Crosby and Jack Hagerty 10 each.
Against, Johnson & Wales, Levermore and TZyburt had eight and seven kills respectively and Kemp had 33 assists. Senior
