ROCHESTER, NY -
Catherine Willard scored her second goal of the game 2:49 into overtime to give Nazareth a 3-2 win over visiting Oswego. The Golden Flyers fought back from a two goal deficit after the Lakers scored on two of their four first half shots. Despite dominating the Lakers with a 37-5 shot differential, Nazareth did not get on the scoreboard until the 55th minute of the game.
Dani Cronk scored both first half goals for the Lakers. Both of her goals were assisted by Monica Harvey after Cronk redirected the initial shots by Harvey, deflecting the ball past Nazareth's goalkeeper
Lauren Devine. Devine had two saves in the first half before being relieved by freshman keeper
Kimber Nourse who played the remaining 37:49 to earn her first career win.
Catherine Willard scored her first goal of the game at 54:53 beating Oswego goalkeeper Sarita Charap to the inside right post. Just four minutes later,
Leah Good scored her first collegiate goal for Nazareth to tie the game 2-2. Good deflected in a high ball from
Kailee Coleman who was credited with the assist.
Oswego got a shot off first in the overtime period forcing Nourse to make her first career save. Nazareth's defense was able to carry the ball out of their defensive end and clear it up to Willard who had just one defender to beat. Willard dodged the Laker defender to get her game-high 11th shot off and score the game winner at 72:49.
Nazareth out-shot Oswego 19-4 in the first half and 37-5 overall. The Golden Flyers also dominated on penalty corners holding a major 21-1 advantage.
Charap amassed 21 saves in the loss, while Nazareth's Devine finished with two and Nourse with one.
