Updated statsPLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Nazareth college men's soccer team fell by a score of 3-1 to Colby-Sawyer College in its second game in as many days of the Plattsburgh Tournament.
Colby-Sawyer jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 23
rd minute. Andrew Clothier slotted a shot off the inside post from the top of the box to open the scoring.
Just six minutes later Colby-Sawyer was at it again, as a pass across the box found the feet of Jake Sykes. The scored remained 2-0 at the half.
Nazareth was able to draw to within one goal in the 55
th minute as the Golden Flyers found the net for the first time this season.
Yacov Zohn cashed in off a header after an initial shot from
Dylan Toscano came off the crossbar.
For the game, the Chargers outshot the Golden Flyers 17-8.
Nate Ripic made the start in net for Nazareth, making nine saves in 90 minutes of action.
Nazareth returns to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday when it will travel to Fredonia.
