ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The post-season begins today for Nazareth's men's lacrosse team as the top-seeded Golden Flyers host forth-seeded St. John Fisher in a semifinal game of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament. Game time is 4 p.m. at Golden Flyer Stadium.

If today's game features a sense of deja vu it is because the two teams just met four days ago at Fisher in the final regular-season game that Nazareth won 16-6. Nazareth Coach Rob Randall, however, is taking a cautious approach with the idea that he wants the Golden Flyers' post-season stay to extend beyond today and deep into May.

"I'm expecting to see a different Fisher team than we saw on Saturday," said Randall, whose team is ranked 15th nationally and brings an overall record of 13-4 into today's action. "(Despite Saturday's score), the stats were pretty even. We were fortunate that we shot the ball well."

Fisher comes in with a 10-6 overall record. The other semifinal game also is a rematch of a game played last Saturday as second-seeded Ithaca (12-4) hosts third-seeded Stevens 9-7 at 4 p.m. Ithaca won Saturday's meeting in Hoboken, N.J., 16-12.

If Nazareth wins, the E8 Championship game, which carries an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, would be played Saturday at 4 p.m. at Golden Flyer Stadium.

Today's game (and Saturday's game if Nazareth advances) will be broadcast on local radio station WYSL (AM-1040 and FM-92.1) and is available online at www.wysl1040.com.
