Luis Rivera and Samantha Goble have earned weekly awards from the Empire 8 Conference for the week ending December 13.  Rivera garnered the male Field Athlete of the Week, while Goble was the female representative for the Track Athlete of the Week.

Rivera obliterated the field in the weight throw at the RIT Early Season Invite in an ECAC qualifying toss of 18.27 meters (59 feet, 11 1/4 inches).  Teammate Brandon Vuolo was the second place finisher in 15.20 meters.  Rivera's throw is currently the second-best mark in the country.  The Golden Flyers finished the meet in third place.

Goble blew away the field in the 500-meter dash, winning by more than three seconds in an ECAC qualifying time of 1:18.42.  That mark was just .12 seconds off the school record.  The Golden Flyers finished in sixth place at the meet.
