Nazareth runs at Roberts Wesleyan

Women finish in 7th place; Men take 9th

CHILI, N.Y. -- The Nazareth women's and men's cross country teams were in action again on Saturday at the Harry Anderson Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan. Sophomore Gabrielle LeBihan was the Golden Flyers' top finisher in the women's 5-kilometer race as she crossed the line in 17th-place with a time of 19:06. Senior Matt Fedrizzi also finished 17th in the men's 8-kilometer race. Fedrizzi's time was 26:53.

Roberts Wesleyan won the women's meet with a total of 33 points. The Redhawks had seven runners in the top 18 places, including four runners in the top 10. Cornell was second with 53 points, followed by Rochester in third with 115 points. The Golden Flyers finished in seventh after tallying 204 points.

Following LeBihan was graduate student Lauren Jamieson, who placed 35th with a time of 19:38. Freshman Emily Thompson was Nazareth's third finisher as she took 52nd in 20:09. Senior Lauren Heitzhaus and sophomore Blair Meeson were the fourth and fifth finishers, respectively. Heitzhaus was 64th with a time of 20:25, while Meeson was 80th in 20:44. Junior Michaela Gildemeyer was the Golden Flyers' sixth finisher as she finished seconds behind Meeson in 80th with a time of 20:47.

Junior Kassandra Lathrop placed 100th with a time of 21:09. Freshman Jamie DiSalvo was two places behind Lathrop with a time of 21:10. Junior Meleana Spera (21:30) was 110th, freshman Kelly Maloney (21:32) was 112th, and junior Victoria Burchill (22:45) was 144th. Freshman Alycia Andolina rounded out the Golden Flyers' runners in 186th with a time of 25:55.

Roberts Wesleyan also claimed the title in the men's meet with a total of 33 points. The Redhawks had five runners in the top 12 places to take first. LIU Post took second with 51 points, and Mercyhurst was third with 92 points. Nazareth was ninth with 263 points.

Following Fedrizzi was freshman Ethan Osborne in 42nd place with a time of 28:04. Sophomore Patrick Neureuter was 67th with a time of 28:48. Freshman Jacob Murray was the fourth Golden Flyer across the line as he finished in 84th with a time of 29:40. Classmate Matt Battaglia finished two places later in 29:49.

Freshman Thomas Lannon was 94th with a time of 30:10. Senior Jake Lafaver crossed the line two places after Lannon with a time of 30:19. Zack Lafaver was Nazareth's eighth finisher and 102nd overall with a time of 30:45.

The Golden Flyers are in action again again next Saturday, October 5th, at the Pre-Regional meet at Letchworth Park.
