Ithaca downs Nazareth, 2-0

ITHACA, NY - Ithaca scored two first half goals and went on to defeat Nazareth 2-0 in men's soccer Saturday afternoon.  Nazareth falls to 6-8-0, 1-5-0 and Ithaca improves 7-3-4, 3-1-1.

The Bombers' Tim Goldman scored at 12:23 in the first half off a cross from A.J. Wolfanger to go ahead 1-0.  Jordan Filipowich scored off a free kick at 43:27 to put Ithaca up by two.
 
Nazareth out-shot the Bombers 9-4 in the first half but was unable to find the back of the net.  Both teams had a total of 13 shots for the game but only two of the Golden Flyers' attempts were on goal.  Ithaca had a slight 11-9 advantage in corner kicks.
 
Ryan Foley had four shots for Nazareth and James Wheeler three.  Shane Mead, Luke Elston, Kory Seibt, and Jason Renfro also had shot attempts in the game. 
 
#J.P. Horan# had six saves, all in the second half, for Nazareth while Ithaca's Kenny Chapman had two first half saves and was not challenged in the second.

Nazareth hosts Buffalo State on Tuesday, October 23 for a non-conference game at 4 p.m.
