ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- William Smith's Brelynn Nasypany scored the only goal of the game Saturday in the 39th minute to lift 16th-ranked William Smith to a 1-0 women's soccer victory over host Nazareth.

The goal was Nasypany's third of the season and boosted the Herons' record to 2-0. Nazareth dropped to 1-1. The game was part of the Nazareth Tournament played at Golden Flyer Stadium. Tenth-ranked Otterbein defeated Colby-Sawyer in the first game, 2-0.

Action resumes Sunday with William Smith taking on Colby-Sawyer at 12 p.m., followed by Nazareth vs. Otterbein at 2:30 p.m.

Nasypany's goal enabled the Herons to extend their unbeaten streak over Nazareth to 13 games (11-0-2) as she sprinted past two Nazareth defenders and beat goalkeeper Hillary Simon with a low shot into the left corner.

The Herons continued to pressure Nazareth in the early stages of the second half, but Simon made three of her five saves to keep the score close. Nazareth, meanwhile, had five of its eight shots in the second half, but all four of the saves made by the Herons' Amanda Davis were routine as she was credited with the shutout.
