GENEVA, N.Y. -- Host Hobart scored the game-winning goal at 3:52 into the first overtime period Tuesday as the Statesmen won a non-conference men's soccer match, 3-2, over Nazareth at Cozzens Field.
Nazareth had battled back from a 2-0 deficit to force the game to overtime, but the Golden Flyers' record fell to 2-5-2 overall while Hobart improved to 5-2-2. It was the Golden Flyers' fifth overtime game this season.
Hobart's Lukas Peterson was credited with the winning goal, his third of the season.
The Statesmen led 2-0 less than 12 minutes into the game on goals by Caetano Sanchez and Eli Vitale. Nazareth tied the score on goals by

Ryan Foley.
Kerr's goal came in the 31st minute off a pass from
Sean Dorman, who crossed the ball from the right wing. Kerr then one-timed his shot past Hobart keeper Charlie Hale. Foley's goal came about 11 minutes later and went unassisted as he slipped past a defender and beat Hale one-on-one. It was Foley's team-leading third goal of the season.
The score went unchanged until the 94th minute. Junior
Kyle Connolly had eight saves in goal for Nazareth. Hale made four saves for Hobart.
Nazareth resumes its Empire 8 Conference schedule this weekend with a pair of home games. The Golden Flyers host Utica Saturday and Stevens Sunday. Both games are 12 p.m. starts.
