Rikesh Kotak scored three goals and added two assists and freshman
Ryan Foley also scored twice and had an assist Saturday as visiting Nazareth had little difficulty defeating Alfred in an Empire 8 men's soccer match, 8-0, at Merrill Field.
The Golden Flyers improved to 3-1 in conference games and to 5-6-2 overall. The Saxons are 4-6-2 overall and 0-4 in E8 action.
The Golden Flyers scored four goals in each half to dominate the Saxons, who managed only six shots and were held without a corner kick.
Kotak scored Nazareth's first two goals less than a minute apart in the first half. Freshman
James Wheeler assisted on the first goal and Foley on the second. Foley and junior
Sean Dorman each scored before the first half ended as Nazareth built a commanding advantage.
Liam Connolly and Kotak had assists.
In the second half, Foley scored again and now has team bests in goals (7) and points (18). Freshman
Luke Elston contributed his first career goal and also had an assist and sophomore
Scott Duarte also scored for the first time. Wheeler also had two assists to raise his season total to five.

Jared Schreiner combined for the shutout. Connolly needed to make just two saves.
Nazareth plays three of its last four games at home, starting with next Saturday's E8 game against St. John Fisher at 11 a.m.
