SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Sophomore
Kelsey Ryan was Nazareth's top runner Saturday as the Golden Flyers finished in seventh place at the NYSCTC meet at Saratoga State Park.
Ryan finished in 27th place on Saratoga's 5-kilometer course with a time of 19:03. Nazareth had a team score of 203 to finish behind St. Lawrence (28), Ithaca (46), Hamilton (106), Rochester (118), Rensselaer (121) and RIT (135). Utica (206), Union (258) and Alfred (271) also competed.
Freshman
Kathryn Piechowiak was next for Nazareth in 52nd place (19:51), followed by junior
Michelle Gillette in 54th place (19:53); sophomore
Kelsey Mash in 58th place (19:58); freshman
Bethany Althaus in 59th place ((19:59); and sophomore
Lauren Jamieson in 63rd place (20:15).
In the men's meet, Nazareth finished in ninth place with a team score of 232. St. Lawrence, with five of the top seven finishers, won the meet easily with 19 points. Rochester was second with 38.
Senior
Matt Morales was Nazareth's top finisher in 38th place with a time of 27:09 for 8 kilometers. Junior
Peter Fekete was next in 49th place (27:44), then junior
Tim Rutan in 58th (28:12), freshman
Jake Lafaver in 81st (29:56) and junior
Dan Polino in 83rd place ((30:22).
Nazareth is back in Saratoga Saturday to compete in the Empire 8 Conference meet.
