ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Visiting RIT defeated the Golden Flyers, 17-5, in women's lacrosse on a rainy Saturday afternoon, to end the Golden Flyers' 29-game regular-season win streak in Empire 8 Conference play.

RIT junior Allyson Pisher led all players with five points on four goals and one assist. The Tigers improved to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the Empire 8 with their first victory over Nazareth since 1993. Nazareth had won 14 straight meetings with the Tigers prior to Saturday.

Also pacing the Tigers were juniors Danielle Previ, who scored four goals, and Ashley Prezze, who had three goals and an assist. Nazareth got two goals from junior Nora Davis, but the loss drops the Golden Flyers to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

RIT dominated from the outset in building a 7-1 lead, from which Nazareth couldn't recover. The Golden Flyers rallied to within 7-3 before halftime on goals by Stephanie Cash and Davis. Nazareth's Alyssa Mulheron then scored to open the second half to make it 7-4.

The Tigers erased any comeback hopes by scoring the next five goals and 10 of the last 11 to complete the rout. Pisher had three of her four to lead the Tigers in that stretch.

Statistically Nazareth out shot RIT 33-27, but they couldn't find the back of the net. RIT was a perfect 4-4 on free-position shots while Nazareth went 2-12.

Nazareth travels to Alfred on Sunday to take on the Saxons at 1 p.m.
