CLIFTON SPRINGS. N.Y. -- Freshman Melissa Ciociolo was Nazareth's top individual finisher over the weekend as she finished in a tie for fifth place at the William Smith Invitational at Clifton Springs Country Club.

Ciociolo posted rounds of 79 and 82 for a 162 total to finish in a three-way tie for fifth place. Nazareth placed fourth in the 11-team standings with a two-day team score of 670. Nazareth finished one stroke behind St. Lawrence and eight behind runner-up Vassar. Allegheny won the event with a score of 639.

Junior Ann Sessler was Nazareth's next best finisher, shooting 80 and 84 for a 164 total and a tie for ninth place. Other Nazareth competitors were junior Meaghan Hardy (82-87 -- 169); junior Kate Holland (89-89 -- 178); sophomore Kayce Wagner (86-97 -- 183); junior Lisa Nazarenko (102-98 -- 200); freshman Rebecca Merrell (112-108 -- 220); and senior Trista Twomey (122-119 -- 241).
