CANTON, N.Y. -- Freshman Sara Weigel and juniors Lindsey Buzard and Lauren McKinney each won two events Saturday as Nazareth defeated host St. Lawrence in a women's swimming and diving meet, 157-142. St. Lawrence defeated Nazareth in the men's meet, 165-95.

Nazareth improved to 2-1 in women's swimming and diving. The men's team is 0-3.

Weigel finished first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:29.68) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:21.85) while McKinney captured the 200-yard butterfly (2:21.53) and the 200-yard IM (2:20.28). Buzard won both diving events, scoring 199.60 in 1-meter diving and 200.55 in the 3-meter event.

Junior Erin Rappold led Nazareth to a 1-2-3 finish in the 500-yard freestyle as junior Courtney Pilc and senior Martha Mortensen finished second ahd third respectively.

In the men's meet, junior Rob Wortel won the 50-yard freestyle (:23.16) and finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (:52.90). Freshman Dan Walton finished first in the 100-yard butterfly (:59.62).

Junior Paul Thompson had a pair of second-place finishes -- in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:21.81) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:34.19). Junior #R.C. Weston# placed second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:13.16).

Nazareth competes again Wednesday at home against Brockport at 5:30 p.m.
