Nazareth falls to Hamilton, 2-1

CLINTON, N.Y -- Nazareth's second half rally fell just short Tuesday as the Golden Flyers fell to the host Continentals 2-1 in a non-conference game. Junior Kelly Finn scored Nazareth's goal in the 70th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1, but the Golden Flyers were unable to put another shot into the net.

Nazareth falls to 5-2 with the loss while the Hamilton remains undefeated at 5-0. The Continentals have outscored their opponents 24-2 in their five victories.

Hamilton scored the first goal of the game in the 27th minute, then the Continentals added a second goal on a breakaway in the 54th minute to take the 2-0 lead. Junior Emily Zurschmit sent a through ball to Finn to put the Golden Flyers on the board. 

Freshman Hillary Simon made five saves for the Golden Flyers. Caitlin McGilley made five saves for Hamilton.

Nazareth was outshot 17-9 in the game including 10-1 in the first half. The Continentals also held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Golden Flyers host Elmira in a conference game Saturday, September 22nd, in their next match.
