ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Visiting Nazareth improved to 5-1 overall in women's soccer with Saturday's 4-0 Empire 8 Conference victory over Hartwick.

The victory was Nazareth's second in E8 Conference games. Hartwick is 0-2 in conference games and 1-5 overall.

Junior midfielder Sandi Toth scored midway through the first half when she headed in a corner kick from the foot of senior Julie Birbilis. The Golden Flyers added three more goals in the second half, including the first career goal for goalie-turned-field player Shannon Burns.

Senior Caroline Parsons (Glens Falls HS/Glens Falls, NY) scored Nazareth's second goal off an assist from freshman Kara Eaker. The third goal came on a penalty kick from senior midfielder Caity Richardson (Pittsford Mendon HS/Pittsford, NY).

Burns, Nazareth's starting goalie the past two seasons, added Nazareth's fourth goal.

The Golden Flyers return to action Tuesday for a non-conference game at Hamilton at 4 p.m.
