BOXSCORE |
CUMULATIVE STATSUTICA, N.Y. -- Sophomore guard
Corey McAdam sank a fade-away 15-foot jump shot with :02 left in the game Friday to lift visiting Nazareth to a 66-64 victory over Utica in an Empire 8 men's basketball game.

Utica had tied the score at 64-64 on a basket by James McClendon with about 15 seconds to play. Instead of calling a timeout, Nazareth allowed the ensuing play to develop. McAdam, who made five of 11 shots from the field and 8 of 9 free throws, finished with 18 points, eight assists and three steals.
The game was close throughout with Nazareth holding a 31-27 halftime lead. Utica led for a good portion of the second half, but Nazareth rallied to take a four-point advantage, 60-56, following a pair of free throws by
Rayvon Higdon with 1:51 to play.
Utica rallied behind a pair of three-point baskets -- one by Patrick Goodman and one by Doug Herring sandwiched between two free throws by
Corey McAdam -- to tie the score at 62.
Corey McAdam sank two more free throws with :47 to play, before Utica tied the score again on McClendon's basket.
Junior
Ryan McAdam led all scorers with 20 points on 7 for 11 shooting. He also grabbed seven rebounds. Senior guard
Joe Canori added 11 points. Herring and Justin Maxwell each scored 14 points for Utica, which made 14 of 26 shots in the second half, including six three-pointers.
Nazareth if off until after Christmas when the Golden Flyers travel to York, Pa. for a tournament on Dec. 28-29.
