ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth scored twice in each half Saturday and held on to take a 4-3 women's soccer victory over Kean University of New Jersey in a non-conference game.

The Golden Flyers recorded their fourth straight win to improve to 9-2 overall. Kean is 7-3-2 overall.

Senior Caity Richardson (Pittsford Mendon HS/Pittsford, NY) and freshman Erica Conte (Caledonia-Mumford HS/Caledonia, NY) each scored for Nazareth in the first half. Richardson's goal came off a cross from Kelly Finn (Homer HS/Cortland, NY) as her shot deflected off the bottom of the crossbar before finding its way into the goal.

Conte's goal came about five minutes later as she headed in a direct kick from Julie Birbilis (Ballston Spa HS/Ballston Spa, NY).

After Kean's Jennifer Behrens (Lakeland Regional/Ringwood, NJ) scored in the opening minute of the second half, Nazareth answered in the 52nd minute as Finn scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season off a through pass from junior midfielder Rachel Cushman (Irondequoit HS/Rochester, NY).

Less than four minutes later, Cushman picked up another assist as her crossing pass found the foot of senior Caroline Parsons (Glens Falls HS/Glens Falls, NY), who delivered her fifth goal of the season.

Kristin Cizek (St. John Vianney HS/Manalapan, NJ) and Randi Vizoco (Timer Creek HS/Erial, NJ) scored for Kean after that to make the game more interesting.

Nazareth had a 19-15 edge in shots. Freshman Hillary Simon (Homer HS/Homer, NY) and sophomore Polly Muehlenkamp (Wyoming HS/Cincinnati, OH) combined to make nine saves in goal for Nazareth.

The Golden Flyers are home again Tuesday to host William Smith in a non-conference game at 4 p.m.
