Sophomore Jack Pomykaj was a busy man at the Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championships as he competed in two individual events, a relay and the decathlon. He was named the Field Athlete of the Meet and broke the school and meet record in the Decathlon with 5,954 points. He, and the 4x100 relay, broke the school record again this week with a time of 43.01 to earn second-place points. He was third in the pole vault (4.30 meters) and second in the long jump (6.71 meters). In the 10-event multi, he was first in four different events – 100-meter dash, 1500-meters, pole vault and long jump. He was second in four others – 400-meters, 110-meter hurdles, javelin throw and shot put.
