Gabel, named as a first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star earlier in the week, led the Golden Flyers to the conference title over the weekend with wins over St. John Fisher and Utica. He scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Friday's 80-71 win over Fisher and the scored a game-high 19 points with nine rebounds in Saturday's 54-53 win over Utica. Gabel was named tournament MVP after shooting 17-for-32 (53.1%) from the field with six three-pointers. Nazareth will be making its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance later this week.
