Pierson broke her own school record Saturday in the 60-meter dash as Nazareth opened its indoor track and field season at the Brockport Invitational. Pierson ran a time of 8.19 seconds in the prelims to break her record of 8.23 seconds, set last season. She eventually settled for a fourth-place finish. She also finished second in the long jump with a leap of 5.28 meters (17 feet, 4 inches).
