Field Hockey Offense Comes Alive In Win At Keuka

KEUKA, NY – The Nazareth field hockey squad got back into the win column for the first time in over a month with a 4-1 win at Keuka Tuesday night.  Jennifer Hilts added two goals in the victory.

With the win, Nazareth improves to 2-12 overall, while Keuka remains winless at 0-11.

The Golden Flyers found the back of the net twice in the final eight minutes of the first half.  Kristina Back connected with Hilts for her first goal of the game on a rip from the top of the circle.  It was Back's first assist of the season.

Keuka answered, however, as Alyssa Orsino evened the score 1:12 later.

Bridget Geary picked a perfect time to score her first collegiate goal, netting the game-winner at the 32:58 mark off a rebound.

Nazareth led 2-1 at the break.

Hilts added an insurance goal eight minutes into the second half off an assist from Emily Prescott.  The Eaton, NY native scored off a penalty corner to give her a team-leading six goals.

The Golden Flyers offense converted their second rebound goal in the 57th minute.  Prescott scored a goal of her own to close out the scoring.

Kimber Nourse registered nine saves in the win.

Nazareth returns to the field on Saturday, when it hosts Elmira at 12 p.m. for Senior Day.
