ITHACA, N.Y. (Nov. 1, 2003) -- Jefferson Dargout scored off a pass from Matt Elliott with 38 seconds left in the first overtime Saturday to lift Nazareth to a 2-1 victory over St. John Fisher in a semifinal game of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament played at Ithaca College.

The victory vaulted the Golden Flyers (8-5-2 overall) into Sunday's Empire 8 championship game against Alfred at 1 p.m. Alfred (9-5-3) reached the final by upsetting top-seeded Ithaca in penalty kicks.

Dargout also gave Nazareth a 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal with just 1:35 to play in the first half. Fisher (9-8-2) tied the score just 27 seconds before halftime on a goal by Mitch Daly. The teams then played through a scoreless second half and nearly 10 minutes of overtime before Dargout broke loose for his 11th goal of the season.

Senior goalie Scott Chapman made five saves in the win.
