Women's resultsTROY, N.Y. -- Sophomore
Taylor Pierson turned in a fifth-place finish in the women's long jump event Friday as Nazareth's track and field team competed atg the ECAC Championships at Rensselaer.
Pierson was just a half an inch shy of her personal best with a leap of 5.70 meters (18 feet, 8 1/2 inches). St. Lawrence's Divya Biswal won the event with a jump of 19 feet, 4 3/4 inches. Pierson is ranked 12th nationally in the long jump and will represent the Golden Flyers at the NCAA Championship meet starting Thursday at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. Her best jump of the season was 18 feet, 9 inches at Nazareth's ROC City Classic April 12.
Junior
Michaela Gildemeyer finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.36. She is ranked 33rd nationally by running 2:13.70 earlier this spring. Junior
Hannah Brackley also competed Friday in the 400-meter dash and finished ninth in :58.37.
In the men's meet, senior
Jake Lafaver finished 17th in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.55.
