ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Brockport outscored host Nazareth 9-5 in the first half and went on to defeat the Golden Flyers 14-10 in a non-conference women's lacrosse game on Wednesday afternoon. Seniors

Amy McIntosh each scored three goals for the Golden Flyers.
With Tuesday's game being the season opener for each team, Nazareth drops to 0-1 to start the 2013 campaign. The Golden Eagles start the season with a 1-0 record.
Johnston scored the season-opening goal for the Golden Flyers with an unassisted score only 1:11 into the first half. Brockport answered with eight of the next 10 goals to take an 8-3 lead with about 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Seven different players scored on Brockport's eight goals. Only Liz Algie found the back of the net more than once. The Golden Eagles converted two free position opportunities to aide them in the scoring run.
Johnston scored both of the Golden Flyers' goals during Brockport's spurt. Johnston connected on a free position shot at the 23:58 mark to tie the game at two goals apiece. Johnston added her third goal of the game 4:33 later to cut Nazareth's deficit to one goal, 4-3. Senior
Erinn Wood assisted on Johnston's third tally.
McIntosh and Cregan added consecutive goals in a span of just over a minute to bring Nazareth to within three goals, 8-5, with 8:17 to play in the first half. Junior
Kelsey McNaboe assisted on McIntosh's tally. Roughly two minutes later, Alyssa Scordo reclaimed the Golden Eagles' four goal lead after scoring on another Eagles' free position shot.
In the second half, Brockport and Nazareth traded goals to allow the Golden Eagles to maintain their lead. Senior
Kayleigh Pearson scored her first goal of the season for the Golden Flyers. McIntosh and Cregan also scored their second and third goals of the game to answer the Golden Eagles' scores. Cregan's third goal trimmed Brockport's lead to three goals, 13-10, with 15:34 to play in regulation. The Golden Flyers, however, were unable to score in following Cregan's goal.
Wood was credited with an assist on McIntosh's second goal and Cregan's third goal. Johnston recorded her fourth point of the game with setting up Cregan's second goal.
Algie finished with two additional goals in the second period to finish the afternoon with a game-high four goals for Brockport. Nina Tassone, Ciara McKeon, and Scordo each also finished with multiple goals as they tallied two goals apiece.
The Golden Eagles finished with a 29-19 advantage in shots and a 21-18 edge in ground balls collected. Brockport had overwhelming success on draw controls with an 18-8 advantage. The Golden Flyers' defense held the Eagles scoreless on their four extra-man opportunities, although Brockport finished 3-5 on free position chances. Nazareth was 2-4 on free position opportunities.
Senior
Shelby Robinson played the first half in goal for the Golden Flyers and finished with four saves and nine goals against. Junior
Tara Prosak played the second half in the Nazareth net and allowed five goals and made six saves.
Hannah O'Connor and Remle Harr also split halves in goal for Brockport. Each goalie was credited with two saves and allowed five goals.
The Golden Flyers look to even their record Saturday when Nazareth hosts William Smith at 12 p.m.
