Alyssa Johnston scored five goals and added two assists Tuesday and fellow senior
Leah Cronister scored three times as Nazareth won its first women's lacrosse game of the season with a 13-4 victory over Bridgewater of Virginia.
Nazareth improved to 1-2 with the non-conference win, while Bridgewater dropped to 0-4.
Johnston doubled her season goal total to a team-best 10 to go with six assists for 16 points. Johnston also had seven draw controls, three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Senior
Erinn Wood and sophomore
Brooke Sullivan each had one goal and one assist, while senior
Kayleigh Pearson, junior
Amy McIntosh and sophomore Briana Mancini also scored for the Golden Flyers, who led 8-1 at halftime. Nazareth also enjoyed a 29-16 advantage in shots.
Junior
Tara Prosak played 40 minutes in goal and made two saves. Senior
Shelby Robinson played the last 20 minutes and had four saves.
Nazareth plays two home games this weekend -- Friday at 5 p.m. vs. Endicott and Saturday at 5 p.m. against Fredonia.
