ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Sophomores
Maria Allocco and
Olivia Harrigan each pounded out 16 kills against Potsdam Friday, but the Nazareth dropped a tough four-set women's volleyball match to the Bears in its second match of the RIT Invitational. Scores were 28-26, 27-25, 19-25, 31-29. Earlier in the day Nazareth defeated Medaille in four sets 25-23, 25-18, 20-25, 25-15.
The Golden Flyers will bring a 5-6 overall record into Saturday's second day of competition. Nazareth plays St. Lawrence at 12 p.m. and RIT at 2.
Allocco had just one hitting error in 25 attempts against Potsdam for a .600 hitting percentage, while Harrigan had 34 attempts for a .324 hitting percentage. Senior setter
Brittany Crocetti had 53 assists and nine digs. Harrigan added eight digs as did senior
Amy Johnson and freshman
Jennifer Goodman.
Allocco and Harrigan each had six kills against Medaille and Crocetti combined 21 assists with seven digs.
