ROCHESTER,  N.Y. -- Host Nazareth closed out its 2010 softball season with a doubleheader sweep of Keuka Sunday. The Golden Flyers rode the four-hit pitching of sophomore Kelly Kocher to a 3-0 win in the first game and then rallied with four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 5-4 win in the second game.

The Golden Flyers ended with an overall record of 17-21. The second game marked the 200th career coaching victory for Nazareth head coach Jack Carpenter, who won 139 games in six seasons at RIT before completing his fourth season at Nazareth in 2010. Keuka dropped to 23-8 overall.

In the first game, Kocher was dominant for the Golden Flyers as she scattered four hits and struck out 15. The victory was her 13th of the season against seven losses and her ninth by shutout. She finished with 277 strikeouts in 137 innings.

Nazareth scored once in the fifth inning to break the scoreless deadlock. Freshman Mandy Weakley reached on an error, advanced to second base on a passed ball and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Katie Valerio. She scored on a single by Ann Schoff.

Nazareth added two more run sin the sixth as Kaitlin Graham walked and scored in front of a two-run homer to left field by Casey Mathers.

In the second game, Keuka scored single runs in the third, fourth, sixth and seventh innings and carried a 4-1 advantage into the bottom of the seventh.

Valerio led off with a single and moved to second when Schoff was hit by a pitch. One out later, Kelley Horbal singled to load the bases.

Polly Muehlenkamp then reached on a fielder's choice and Valerio scored when the throw to the plate was mishandled. Graham followed with a two-run single to tie the game. With Muehlenkamp at second base, representing the winning run, Brittany Patenaude slugged a double to center field that chased Muehlenkamp home with the game-winning run.

Weakley finished with two hits for Nazareth, including an RBI double that plated the Golden Flyers' first run in the fourth. Nazareth's dramatic rally made Mathers the winning pitcher as she won her fourth game of the season with three strikeouts.
