CLINTON, N.Y. - Both the men's and women's teams ran strong races at the Hamilton Invitational Saturday. Nazareth's women team finished in third place with 69 points after Hamilton College (28 points) and Vassar College (32 points). Union College (129 points) and D'Youville College (137 points ) followed Nazareth in fifth and sixth place.
Senior
Shannon Bradley was the first of Nazareth's women to finish the 4-K landing in sixth place with a time of 15:53.4. Placing 12th overall and second for Nazareth was freshman
Kelsey Ryan (16:11.2).
Other competitors to finish as Nazareth's top five women were senior
Caitlyn Parmelee (16:18.1) in 14th place, junior
Sarah Wilcox (16:38.8) in 19th place, and freshman
Lauren Jamieson (16:39.2) in 20th place. Freshman
Kelsey Mash (17:01.1) finished 31st, sophomore
Jessica Goodrich (17:02.2) finished 33rd, and freshman Krista Johnson (17:02.7) finished 34th.
Nazareth's men's team finished in third with 74 points behind Vassar College (34 points) and Hamilton College (38 points). Finishing behind Nazareth were Union College (91 points) and D'Youville College (155 points).
Placing third overall and first for Nazareth in the men's 6-K race was junior
Matt Morales with a time of 19:41.1. Trailing Morales with Nazareth's second finish was sophomore
Peter Fekete (20:26.5) in 12th place.
Also placing in Nazareth's top five were freshman
Anthony Romeo (20:34.5) in 16th place, freshman
John Longo (20:42.1) in 18th place, and sophomore
Tim Rutan (21:53.7) in 30th place. Freshman
Josh Strough (22:12.9) finished 35th and sophomore
Donato DiRenzo (22:14.3) finished in 36th place.
Nazareth will race next at the Western Ontario Invitational on September 26th.
