Nazareth College Athletics

Lucas Ogden rowed through high school and college in the 1980's and 90's.  Upon moving to the Rochester area, he was asked to join the Brighton Rowing Club high school team as the varsity boys' coach.  He maintained this role from 2003 to 2006, when he started teaching full time in the middle school.  For the first couple of years teaching, he continued as an assistant coach, creating BRC's middle school modified program.  He returned to varsity coaching in 2021 and became director of rowing and head coach at BRC.  After helping the team re-establish themselves as a regional powerhouse by 2024, he stepped down and began to refocus on his own rowing.    After some conversations with Chief around the growth that Naz Rowing has been enjoying, he offered to volunteer his time and knowledge to support the team in whatever way he was able.  He is, of course, also happy to get to watch his daughter Laurelle row from up close, as she finishes her student-athletic tenure this year.
