Nazareth College Athletics

Occupational Therapy major...  daughter of Nick and Therese Van Stralen, Bloomfield, N.Y... returns for a fifth season of eligibility ... played in 27 games and recorded nine goals and 13 assists to finish seventh on the team in goals, assists and points ... had her best game against Manhattanville in the UCHC Championship with two goals and an assist and was named to the All-Tournament team ... recorded a pair of two-point games with a goal and an assist in each game against King's2/5-6). 

2020-21: team captain... returning for her fourth season, Van Stralen played in all 10 games for the Golden Flyers during the pandemic-shortened 2021 season... had three goals and one assist, including two goals in a 4-1 UCHC playoff win at Chatham on 4/3/21... had one goal and one assist at Utica on 4/1/21... named to the United Collegiate Hockey Conference's All-Academic team for players with a GPA of 3.20 and higher and to the All-American Scholars list (3.60 GPA and higher) by the American Hockey Coaches Association.

2019-20: Van Stralen played in all 26 games in 2019-20 and totaled 15 points on 10 goals and five assists... had a career-best four points (2g, 2a) in 10-0 win at King's on 11/16/19... had three-point games (2g, 1a) at Wilkes on 11/15/19 and at Chatham on 1/18/20... scored game-winning goal with 5:08 left in a 2-1 win over Castleton on 11/30/19... also scored at Lebanon Valley on 1/19/20, at home against Stevenson on 2/1/20 and at William Smith on 2/23/20... named to the United Collegiate Hockey Conference's All-Academic team for players with a GPA of 3.20 and higher and to the All-American Scholars list (3.75 GPA and higher) by the American Hockey Coaches Association.

2018-19: Van Stralen enjoyed a strong first season for the Golden Flyers in 2018-19 as she appeared in all 26 games and contributed 15 points on eight goals and seven assists... had two points (1g, 1a) is wins over Anna Maria on 10/27/18 and King's on 11/10/18... also scored goals in wins over King's on 11/9/18, Neumann on 1/11/19, Utica on 1/18/19, at Post on 2/119 and 2/2/19 and at William Smith on 2/17/19... named to United Collegiate Hockey Conference's All-Academic team for players with GPAs of 3.20 or higher and to All-American Scholars list by the American Hockey Coaches Association for players with GPAs of 3.60 or higher.

Scholastic: a 2018 graduate of Bloomfield Central, Van Stralen competed in cross country, hockey and track and field... also played hockey for the Rochester Monarchs club team... a National Merit Scholar and U.S. Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence Award winner... high school valedictorian.
