Nazareth College Athletics

Psychology minor... Daughter of Michael and Laura Holmes, Reading, Mass... returns for her fifth season at Nazareth after earning AHCA and USCHO.com All-American honors, both Second Team accolades... Holmes appeared in all 29 games amassing 17 points on three goals and 14 assists... her 14 assists ranked fourth on the team... had a season-high three points with three assists against Neumann on 1/19/24... named All-UCHC First Team for the second-straight year... winner of the Jeff Van Gundy Award named for former Nazareth basketball standout and Sports Hall of Famer Jeff Van Gundy, who was renowned for his work ethic and passion for his team and for his school. The award recognizes those characteristics as well commitment to Nazareth athletics in and out of season... one of six Nazareth student athletes to earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District in the at-large category for having over a 3.50 GPA...  named to the UCHC All-Academic team for having over a 3.20 GPA.

2022-23: Junior year that culminated with her earning AHCA and USCHO.com All-American honors to become the first-ever women’s hockey All-American at Nazareth … named the UCHC Defensive Player of the Year and was awarded Nazareth honors as Top Female Junior of the Year and Top Play of the Year with her overtime game-winning goal in the UCHC Championship game against Utica … named to the UCHC All-Tournament team … played in all 29 games and finished with six goals and 20 assists for 26 points … her 20 assists was tied for second on the team and the 28 points was ranked third … her five game-winning goals was tied for ninth in the country and was the top ranking for defensive players … earned UCHC All-Academic team honors.

2021-22: Played in all 29 games last year and finished with five goals and 14 assists from her defensive position ... recorded a goal and two assists in the 16-1 win over King's and also had a goal and an assist against Alvernia and against against Utica ... three of her goals came on the power play. 

2020-21: Holmes played in all 10 games for the Golden Flyers during the pandemic-shortened 2021 season... had one goal and three assists with three points (1g, 2a) coming in a 6-0 win at Chatham on 3/5/21... named United Collegiate Hockey Conference Rookie of the Week for 3/9/21 and named the UCHC's all-rookie team... named to the United Collegiate Hockey Conference's All-Academic team for players with a GPA of 3.20.

Scholastic: a graduate of The Winchendon School in Massachusetts, Holmes competed in hockey, volleyball and softball there... played four seasons of hockey and earned an array of honors... served as team captain in 2019 and named honorable mention all-conference in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council in 2020... played for Boston Junior Eagles club team and named 2020 Defenseman of the Year in the New England Girls Hockey League... a four-time Hockey Night in Boston all-star and twice named as top defenseman... earned all-star honors in volleyball and a member of the National Honor Society.
