Nursing major. . . daughter of Craig and Katie Coon, Penfield, N.Y. . . returning for her fourth season, Coon broke her own record in the weight throw (12.63 meters) and shot put (11.01 meters) during the indoor season. . . placed first and broke the school record in the discus (33.52 meters) during the outdoor season . . . also earned second-team all-Empire 8 honors in the shot put . . . 2006: set outdoor records for the hammer (37.02 meters) and shot put (10.58 meters). . . recipient of team Coaches’ Award for indoor season. . . earned second-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors for the 20-pound weight throw (indoor) and the shot put (outdoor). . . also ran for the Golden Flyers’ cross country team. . . Scholastic: a graduate of Penfield High School, Coon competed in cross country and track. . . received scholar athlete honors for all three sports. . . won Monroe County League discus title in 2003 and 2004 and Section Five title in the shot put in 2004.
