Biography
Early Childhood Education major... daughter of James Carney and Sue Haglund-Carney, Webster, N.Y... competing in her first season of track and field, Carney ran cross country for the Golden Flyers in the fall and finished 41st at the Empire 8 Conference meet at St. John Fisher with a 6-kilometer time of 27:17.4... also finished in 199th place at the NCAA Atlantic Regional race at St. Lawrence with a personal-best time of 27:06.5.
Scholastic: a graduate of Webster Schroeder High School, Carney competed for the track and field team there... served as team captain in 2018 and 2019 and earned team's Most Improved award for 2017... helped team to Monroe County League title in 2017 and was part of Section Five winning 4 x 800-meter relay in 2019... member of National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society... recipient of Shirley Miller Community Service award and Colin Montesano Memorial Scholarship.
