Nazareth College Athletics

Nursing and Public Health major... daughter of David and Laura Meli, Williamsville, N.Y... team captain... returning for her fourth season, Meli competed regularly for the Golden Flyers in 2018-19 and finished fifth in the 1-meter diving event (260.90) at the Empire 8 Conference meet... also swam 1:03.49 in the 100 butterfly.

2017-18: Meli competed for the Golden Flyers in 2017-18 as both a swimmer and diver...finished fifth in the 1-meter diving competition at the Empire 8 Conference meet with a score of 205.70... also specialized in the butterfly by finishing ninth in both the 100- and 200-yard events in 1:02.03 and 2:24.47 respectively.

2016-17: Meli swam regularly for the Golden Flyers in 2016-17 and represented Nazareth at the UNYS/Empire 8 Conference meet by finishing 24th in the 100 butterfly (1:03.05) and 35th in the 200 fly (2:29.79)... also 23rd in the 400 free relay (3:49.64), 23rd in the 200 free relay (1:44.87) and 23rd in the 400 medley relay (4:21.51).

Scholastic: a graduate of Clarence Central, Meli competed in swimming for four seasons as a sprint freestyle and butterfly specialist... helped team to state title in 2012... qualified for the state meet as a senior and participated in the Erie County Interscholastic Conference meet as well as the Section Six meet all four seasons... also swam for the Clarence Swim Club... recipient of several scholarship awards, including the Nazareth Leadership Scholarship, the Italian American Police Association Scholarship, Nazareth Presidential Scholarship and Urban League Scholarship.... member of Nazareth Leadership program, National Society of Leadership and Success and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
