Scholastic: a graduate of Cortland High School, VanGorder was a member of the varsity soccer team for four seasons and the varsity basketball and lacrosse teams for three seasons... as a soccer player, VanGorder was team captain and earned first-team all Central New York, first-team all-Section Three, and first-team all-Freedom League honors... as a lacrosse player, VanGorder was team captain and received Academic all-American and second-team all-Onondaga League honors... helped soccer team to Section Three titles in 2007 and 2008 and the Regional title in 2008... also helped basketball and lacrosse teams to Onondaga League titles in 2007 and 2008... in addition to receiving the Academic all-American honors, VanGorder received additional academic honors including scholar athlete recognition and membership in National Honor Society.
