Zoey Pellowitz was named assistant coach of the women’s hockey team at Nazareth College in August 2021.
Prior to coaching at Nazareth, Pellowitz spent four years playing hockey at Manhattanville College, where she was a captain her senior year. While at Manhattanville, Pellowitz accumulated multiple honors and awards, including Manhattanville Female Rookie of the Year, United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) First Team All-Conference (2018-2019, 2019-2020), Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Defensive Player of the Year, New England Hockey Connference (NEHC) All-Tournament Team, and multiple UCHC/MAC player of the week awards.
She also excelled in the classroom, earning Academic All-MAC (2017-2018), UCHC All-Academic Team (2018-2019, 2019-2020), and MAC Winter Academic Honor Roll (2017-2018, 2018-2019). She helped lead the Valiants to two championship games during her four-year stint and accumulated 81 points on 19 goals and 62 assists while doing so. Pellowitz was also a member of the Manhattanville golf team and worked as an assistant athletic trainer.
After graduating Manhattanville in 2020, Pellowitz took on the head coaching position for the Washington Pride U14 AAA team and assisted with both the U19 and U16 Pride teams. Pellowitz comes to Nazareth with a copious amount of coaching experience. Before Pride she also coached for The Saint James, Hawkins Hockey and Caps Academy.
Pellowitz continued to play hockey after graduating Manhattanville. In 2020-21 she joined the Chesapeake Bay Lightning, a semi-professional women’s team out of the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV). Her 2022 summer was highlighted by serving as team captain and winning a silver medal for Team USA at the Maccabiah Games in Israel.
During her free time, Pellowitz loves to play golf, hike, roller blade, work out and cook.
