English major. . . born 8/4/88. . . daughter of Michael and Marie Nazarenko, Victor, N.Y. . . returning to the golf team for her second season, Nazareko competed at the William Smith Invitational during the the fall 2008 season. . . finished with an average score of 100 in two rounds. . .was also a member of the Golden Flyers' softball team. . . was named to the Northeast Region all-star team and was an Empire 8 honorable mention selection. . . also received Empire 8 Pitcher of the Week honors (3/30/09). . . was Nazareth's leading hitter with a .446 batting average and posted team highs in home runs (7) and runs batted in (26). . . also finished with an 8-4 record on the pitcher's mound with 87 strikeouts in 82 innings pitched. . . 2008: Nazarenko transferred to Nazareth from Mercyhurst College. . . played one season of softball at Mercyhurst and made eight pitching appearances for a 3-2 record with 15 strikeouts. . . earned first-team Empire 8 all-star honors as a pitcher for the Golden Flyers in 2008 after amassing 161 strikeouts in 120 innings pitched. . . Scholastic: a graduate of Victor High School, Nazarenko was a standout in volleyball and softball there. . . was a two-time all-state selection as a softball pitcher and holds the Section Five record with three perfect games in the 2006 season. . . named Daily Messenger Player of the Year for ‘05 and ‘06 and Section Five Birdseye Foods Player of the Year. . . named team MVP in ‘05 and ‘06 and helped team to Finger Lakes East titles and Section Five championship game appearances in each of those seasons. . . also a setter for the volleyball team for four seasons, helped team to state title in 2003. . . named to Section Five all-star teams in 2003 and 2005 and team MVP in ‘06. . . recipient of Barney Lynaugh Award as Victor’s Female Athlete of the Year for 2006.
