Nazareth College Athletics

Biomedical Sciences major... daughter of Mark and Debbie Berghorn, Newark Valley, N.Y... returns for her third season with the Golden Flyers after starting all 37 games last season with 34 of the starts coming as the catcher … earned All-Empire 8 honors as a Second Team selection … finished third on the team with a .306 batting average (38-for-124) with 12 runs, eight doubles, a triple, a home run and 27 runs batted in … she was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI in the win over SUNY-Delhi in Florida and had three hits with a double and a triple in the second game of the doubleheader sweep over Keuka … named to the Empire 8 President’s List for student-athletes with at least a 3.75 grade point average in the spring (2022) and the fall (2023) … named to the NFCA National All-Academic team.

2021: returning for her second season, Berghorn started five games at catcher and one at designated hitter for the Golden Flyers in 2021... batted .278 with five hits in 18 at bats with three runs batted in... went 3-for-4 with two RBIs at Keuka on 5/1/21... represented the Golden Flyers on the Empire 8 Conference Presidents' List for student-athletes with GPAs of 3.75 and above for the fall 2021 semester.

Scholastic: a graduate of Newark Valley High School, Berghorn competed in field hockey, basketball and softball there... played four seasons of varsity softball as a catcher and was a three-time Section Four all-star and served as team captain... a two-time first-team all-star in the Interscholastic Athletic Conference for field hockey... helped team to division title in 2019 after leading the team with 19 goals... also competed for the Southern Tier Storm... played for the Golden Flyers' field hockey team.
