A former three-sport standout at SUNY Canton, Rhea Coad joined the Nazareth athletic staff as a part-time assistant coach for women's hockey and softball in 2018.
Coad competed in hockey, softball and golf at Canton before graduating in 2018 with a degree in Health and Fitness Promotion.
She was a four-year member of the women's hockey program at Canton and was team captain for the 2016-17 season, which ended with a 14-11-2 overall record for the Kangaroos. She was the 2017 recipient of the SUNY Canton Pillars of Character Award.
Cord also reaped success on the softball diamond, where she posted a career batting average of .339. She returned as an assistant coach for the Kangaroos' 2018 season. She also has experience as a student coach intern at St. Lawrence University.
As a student, Coad was active in the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and helped organize several volunteer activities.
A native of Wheatfield, N.Y., Coad competed scholastically at the Ontario Hockey Academy. In addition to her coaching duties at Nazareth, Coad serves as an assistant coach for the Buffalo Beauts, a professional women's hokey team that competes in the National Women's Hockey League.
