History major…son of Gary and Kim Johnsen, Hamburg, N.Y…returning for his fourth season, Johnsen played in 101 games in 2008 and had 159 kills and ranked among the national leaders with a .397 hitting percentage. . . also second on the team with 98 total blocks. . . had a season-best 10 kills in a victory over Villa Julie 3/28/08. . . 2007: recorded 48 kills, three aces, 11 digs, and 33 blocks in 59 games during the 2007 season. . . 2006: appeared in 47 games and had 67 kills for a .392 hitting percentage and 37 blocks. . . had a season-best 10 kills in 12 attempts (with five blocks) at Mt. St. Vincent 2/24/06 . . . Scholastic: a graduate of Hamburg High School, Johnsen played three seasons of varsity volleyball for Coach Brian Carroll. . . named first team all-Western New York as Hamburg won the state championship… named to the all-tournament team at the Eden Pan-Am Tournament and the Orchard Park Invitational…earned a gold medal for the Western New York scholastic team at the Empire State Games…as a junior, Johnsen was named first team all-conference and to the all-tournament team at the Clarence Invitational…also played basketball and baseball. . .  earned scholar-athlete honors for volleyball and basketball.
