Physical Therapy major…son of Frank and Mary Ellen Leahy, Smithtown, N.Y. . . returning for his fourth season, Leahy was spectacular for the Golden Flyers in 2008 as he earned second-team All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association. . . also a first-team NECVA Western Division all-star. . . named MVP of the Nazareth Invitational and named to all-tournament team for Endicott March Mania. . . named Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Player of the Week for 2/10/08 after leading Nazareth to the championship of its own invitational. . . ranked among the Division III leaders in assists with 1,304 (11.54 per game). . . also posted 44 kills, 26 service aces, 150 digs and 64 blocks. . . had a school-record 69 assists in a five-set win at Mercyhurst 1/17/08 . . . had 60 assists or more in three other matches. . . 2007: was Nazareth's top setter as he compiled 958 assists (11.27 per game) in 85 games... also added 15 aces, 100 digs, and 33 blocks... recorded 64 assists in Nazareth's five-game victory over Rivier (3/4/07), 63 assists in a victory over MIT (3/4/07) and 62 assists in the Golden Flyers' win over Eastern Mennonite (2/9/07)... earned second-team NECVA all-star honors... 2006: Leahy played in 100 games for the Golden Flyers and amassed 1,094 assists as the team’s top setter. . . also had 30 kills, 113 digs and 47 blocks. . . selected team MVP and earned NECVA’s Western Division Rookie of the Week for 3/6/06. . . named to all-tournament team for Endicott Tournament as Nazareth placed second. . . had 60 assists or better three times, including 68 assists vs. D’Youville 2/28/06. . . Scholastic: a graduate of Smithtown High School, Leahy earned Suffolk County MVP and all-county honors…served as team captain…team won the county championship in 2003 and 2004 …won a silver medal at the Empire State Games…received all-tournament team honors at the 2005 Junior Olympics… member of National Honor Society as well as the Spanish Honor Society.
