Fairport resident Sandy Kleinberg is back as a part-time assistant coach for the Golden Flyers' men's volleyball team. Kleinberg has an extensive volleyball background both as a player and as a coach.

Kleinberg was a member of the Pace Bootlegger club team that plays through the Rochester Volleyball Club. He also has played internationally as part of the United States team that competed in the World Maccabiah Games in 2001, 2005 and 2008. He was inducted into the Rochester Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.

As a coach, Kleinberg was head coach of the Maccabi Youth Games team from 1997 through 2004. His experience includes coaching the girls’ Volley FX teams through the Rochester Volleyball Club and coaching the boys’ varsity high school team at Pittsford.

Kleinberg has an undergraduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University at Buffalo and a Master of Public Administration degree from Syracuse. He has worked as a manager at Excellus since 2005.
